About us.
Jeremiah is an estate planning attorney. He considers this his part time job and homesteading as his full time job. He also assists with our local homesteading community, loves animals, and is an avid gamer.
Amanda is a doctor of natural medicine (also known as ‘The Weed Doc’, author of several books, and an event speaker at homesteading and prepping events. Her website specific to her books, speaking events, and herbal education is located at here.
She is the founder of the SHTF festival in Hampton TN (more information in the ‘festival’ section of this website) and also the founder and leader of a local homesteading community where she organizes monthly meetings, free classes, and help on homesteading projects for group members.
Together, Jeremiah and Amanda have a homestead where they try to be as self-sufficient as possible. Their goats, ducks, rabbits, and land provide them with everything they need to live including milk, eggs, meat, fur, vegetables, and medicine.

GOATS
Things we get from goats:
From the milk, we can make butter, cream, cheese, sour cream, soap, cream cheese, cheesecakes,
We can also obtain cashmere from goats to weave into yarn or thread. This can then be turned into clothing, blankets, hats, etc.
Goats have very unique and loveable personalities and can also be a valuable meat source if needed.
DUCKS
Things we get from ducks:
Eggs are gathered everyday. The type of duck we have (Khaki Campbell) can produce eggs all year long and more eggs than chickens. They also produce for 4-5 years as opposed to chickens who only produce for around 2 years.
Ducks are very fatty and fat is something needed in SHTF. They can provide meat that can be cooked in a variety of ways…..did someone say ‘duck bacon’?
RABBITS
Things we get from rabbits:
One rabbit can produce 300 pounds of meat per year. They can also be kept indoors if SHTF.
Some rabbits, including our Champagne D’Argent rabbits, are very mild tempered and can provide fur that can be turned into blankets, hats, mittens, etc.
Rabbits also produce a lot of ‘poop’ which is an excellent natural fertilizer for the garden!
Gardens
Our gardens provide us with vegetables, animal feed, and medicine!
